John Williford Miller, Sr., 72, of Kountze died Monday, May 17, 2010, at his residence.  John was born July 26, 1937, in Beaumont to Felix and Ovelia (Thibodeaux) Miller.  A thirty year resident of Kountze, he was a security officer with Lamar University Police Department.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Donna “Peanut” Miller of Kountze; sons, Jason Miller and his wife Amanda of Kountze and John W. Miller, Jr. and his wife Kristy of Woodville; daughter, Patsy LeDoux and her husband Keith of Nederland; twelve grandchildren; and sisters, Eda Robin and her husband Lester of Beaumont and Eva Landry and her husband Johnny of Houston. 

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Charles Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.  A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, May 18, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
