Laurise V. Beck, 93, of Port Neches, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at her residence.   Mrs. Beck was born August 16, 1916, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to Eloise and Nick Vencent. Funeral service for Mrs. Beck were held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Interment will followed at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends was Thursday evening, 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.   After graduating from Lake Arthur High in 1934, she enrolled in Chenier Business College, graduating with an Associates Degree in 1954. She has lived in Nederland for seventy five years, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland for sixty five years and was employed by Nederland State Bank for fifteen years. Preceding her in death were her husband of fifty two years, J.E. Beck; four sisters and one brother. Mrs. Beck is survived by three children, Evelyn Billinger of Nederland, Beverly Ann Block of Port Neches and Jerry E. Beck and his wife Shirley of Port Neches; sister, Marjorie Lois “Punkie” Ellender and her husband Henry of Sulphur, Louisiana; brother, Norbert P. Vincent and his wife Pat of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Peggy Vincent of Lake Charles, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
