Marguerite Lantrip Foulk went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
Marguerite was born to Ellis and Mattye Cook September 10, 1926, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Byrd High in 1943 and immediately joined the Cadet Corps of nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1946.
She was married July 31, 1948, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Richard Foulk. She spent more than twenty years serving as a nurse, with the majority of her career in the Golden Triangle area. She was also actively involved in Jefferson County Republican activities, and even represented the party as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Beaumont.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Richard J. Foulk, of Beaumont; her son, Richard D. Foulk, of Friendswood; her daughter, Diana Baker and son-in-law, Tom Baker, of Lubbock. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bryan Foulk, of Alvin, Kristin Konvicka and her husband Shawn, of Webster, Joshua Baker and his wife Kara, of Wolfforth, Jonathan Baker, of Canyon, and Cassie Baker, of Lubbock; and great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Justin, and Michael Foulk, and Benjamin and Rylan Baker.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at First Baptist Church Beaumont Chapel, 900 Calder Avenue, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at Broussard’s.
