Paula Kay Anders
February 16, 1950 - May 8, 2010 |
Paula Kay Anders went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 8, 2010, surrounded by her loving family, ending a courageous eight year battle with cancer. Paula was born in Silsbee, Texas on February 16, 1950. A long-time resident of Beaumont, Paula graduated from Beaumont High School in 1968. She was a successful businesswoman as a paralegal and a loan officer in both the Beaumont and San Antonio areas. Paula was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Robert Byrne once said, “The purpose of life is a life of purpose.” Paula dedicated her life to God, her family, her church and her friends. Even during her illness Paula found time to help feed the poor and work with the Hope Center to help those who were in need of guidance and encouragement. Paula’s needs were always second to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and a nurturing mother and grandmother. Paula’s loved ones will be forever touched by the generosity and kindness of her heart. Even as her health deteriorated, Paula remained steadfast and active in her faith. She enjoyed traveling and new adventures with her friends and family. Her smile was infectious, as was her positive attitude and zest for life. Paula’s life was full of purpose, and for that, we will always admire and cherish her. Paula’s amazing spirit will live on in the many lives she has touched. Survivors include her husband, Eddie Anders of Beaumont; parents, J.C. and Dorothy Morris of Spurger; son, Chris Anders of Beaumont; daughter, Wendy Henry and her husband Wade of Beaumont; and sister, Barbara Smith and her husband Tommy of Sour Lake. Paula is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Connor Henry, Mackenzy Henry, Morgan Anders, and Hallie Anders; and many nieces, nephews and friends also mourn her passing. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Spurger, 12676 FM-92 S, followed by burial at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 11, 2010, at Broussard’s. Donations may be made in memory of Paula’s life to the charity of one’s choice.
