Clyde Harrel Chance

Clyde Chance, 82 of Beaumont, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Triangle Baptist Church in Nederland with Reverend Eric Armstrong officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Memory Gardens cemetery in Nederland under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday May 11, 2101 at Broussard’s. Mr. Chance was a native and lifelong resident of the area and graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont. He was a member of Triangle Baptist Church in Nederland. He worked for Ritter Lumber for many years and Parker Lumber for thirty five years as a draftsman. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Port Arthur. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he received a Bronze Star. Mr. Chance was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl and Donald Chance. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years Betty Chance of Nederland; three sons, Michael Chance and his wife Naomi of Richmond, Terry Chance and his wife Hui Suk of Nederland, Jay Chance and his wife Donna of Nederland; four grandchildren, William, Christopher, Thomas and Kira. Also surviving Mr. Chance is his favorite aunt Emma Evelyn “John A” Lang of Three Rivers and a host of other relatives and friends.
