Marvin J. Woolbright 
January 23, 1930 - May 8, 2010

Marvin J. Woolbright, 80, of Beaumont died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

 He was born January 23, 1930, in Harlingen, Texas to Martin and Minnie Blassingame Woolbright. A Beaumont resident since 2001, Marvin retired as a school administrator in Downey, California.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University followed by his Master of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.  He obtained his Life Diploma from California State Board of Education, Counselor Credentials from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, Administrative Credentials from California State University, and additional credits from UCLA-CSU in Los Angeles. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a chief petty officer where he was called to active duty during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Beryle Jean Woolbright of Beaumont; daughter, Dianna Kaps and her husband Greg of Park City, Utah and their children, KayLynn, Kristen, and Brittany Kaps; sons, Jim Woolbright and his wife Joanne of Wildomar, California and their children, Justin, Jeffrrey, Johnathan and Joshua Woolbright and Michael Woolbright and his wife Jenny of Huntington Beach, California and their children Leo and Zoe Woolbright; brother, Jack Woolbright of Centerville, Louisiana; sister, Ruby Collier of Port Neches; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Woolbright; parents, Martin and Minnie Woolbright; and four brothers, Melvin, Ray, Roy, and Don Woolbright.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena, Nederland.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Monday, May 10, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
