Leonard Eugene Gay, Sr. 71, of Beaumont died May 4, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.  A native of Ace, Texas and resident of Beaumont since 1952, Mr. Gay was a retired ship fitter with Bethlehem Steel.  He was a United States veteran having been in both the Army and Air Force.  After his retirement from Bethlehem Steel, Mr. Gay was a driver for Mike Smith Auto Plaza.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbye Gay of Beaumont; mother, Alma Wiggins of Hillister; daughter, Lisa G. Gay of Beaumont; son, Len Gay and his wife Carol of Beaumont; sister, Mary Jo Pryne of Lumberton; grandchildren, Ali Gay and Andy Gay; step grandson, Jason Williams; and step great grandson, Slade Williams.  He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Gay; son, Leonard E. Gay, Jr.; daughter, Deborah Wilkerson; and brothers, Herschel Gay and Michael Wiggins.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Sunday evening, May 9, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
