LaMay Hale 
April 23, 1915 - May 3, 2010

LaMay Oma Hale, born  April 23, 1915, in Macksville, Kansas, she was a long term resident of Port Acres, Texas. She died Monday, May 3, 2010, at her residence, Cypress Glen Nursing Facility in Port Arthur, Texas.

She is survived by two sons, A.W.(Bill) Hale, Jr. and S.S. (Soapy) Hale both of Nederland, Texas; one daughter, Lela Gardner of Houston, Texas; three grandsons, Wayne Hale of Houston, Robert and Charles Hale of Nederland, Texas; ten grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, sister, Vaun Adair and two brothers, Brady and Kirk Fowler, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado, sister Anna Stump of  Sun City, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death b y her husband, Austin W. Hale, Sr., her daughter Nora Lundy and Brother Lewis Fowler.

He love of babies and children was further fulfilled by babysitting many children in her home as well as keeping the nursery at her church for many years.

After raising her children she worked for Port Arthur Independent School District as a custodian for over 20 years and was a long time active member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Port Acres.

Her greatest joy in life was to be in the company of and helping in any way she could, her children and grandchildren. Second only to that was her love of gardening—vegetables while raising her family and Always, Always flowers of every variety. She loved to share cuttings and starter plants with friends and family

We, her family, are thankful and joyful that she is now in the company of out Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and her loved ones who’ve gone before her.
