Kay Wall Self, 67, of Vidor, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.  She was born August 20, 1942, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Ruby Washichek Wall and Willard Wall.

Kay was a graduate of Lamar University and went on to teach at Beaumont Independent School District for fourteen years; and later taught at both the Central 9th Grade Campus and Ozen High School. 

Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Boles and her husband Brian of Vidor and Debra Woo of Hendersonville, North Carolina; grandsons, Travis Boles and his wife Juli of Pearland, Trent Boles of Huntsville, Thomas Woo and Daniel Woo both of Hendersonville, North Carolina; granddaughter, Elisha Woo of Hendersonville, North Carolina; sister, Dolores Paffe of Norman, Oklahoma; and her last dog, Noel.

“Give thanks for what you are now, and keep fighting for what you want to be tomorrow.”

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.  A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
