Cecil Floyd Martin 
August 27, 1928 - April 28, 2010

Cecil Floyd Martin, 81, of Honey Island died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born in Lamoni, Iowa on August 27, 1928 to Floyd and Eva Rae (Griffith) Martin. A resident of Honey Island for forty-four years, he retired with Dupont-Beaumont Works as an operator following thirty-two years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

 

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Martin of Honey Island; daughters, Cindy Freeman and her husband David of Nederland and Missy Hammer and her husband Dewitt of Round Rock; sisters, Sharon Hoshaw and her husband Hosey and Betty Anderson both of Iowa; brother, Ardie Decker of Nebraska; grandchildren, Nikki Hammer, Ashley Hammer, Matthew Hammer, and Vincent Freeman; and one great grandson, Cole Resa.

 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until time of service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium.
