Dwight A. Tamplin 
October 1, 1931 - April 25, 2010

Dwight Andrew Tamplin Passed away on April 25, 2010, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas.   Dwight was born to Kage Charles Tamplin and Rosa Lee Vaughn in Shelbyville, Texas in 1931. Dwight married Jeanette Cecile Simoneaux in February of 1955 and later moved to Nederland in 1958 where they made their home and raised their children. They remained married for more than 50 years before Jeanette’s death in 2005. Dwight was a devoted husband and wonderful father.He went on to serve in the United States Air Force Reserve for 18 ˝  years.Dwight worked for Gulf Oil Corporation which later became Chevron Oil Corporation, retiring with more than 30 years employment. Dwight was an instrument technician and a loyal member of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Worker International Union, Local 4-23.Dwight enjoyed playing cards with his neighbors, fishing and boating, his pets, nieces and nephews, children and their friends, and most of all, his grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Zack Tamplin.

Dwight is survived by his children, Ron Tamplin, Gayle Dilks and her husband Drew, Kenneth C. Tamplin, Thomas E. Tamplin and his wife Shelly and Gregory L. Tamplin. He is also survived by two brothers, Brodie Tamplin and Weldon “Chuck” Tamplin. He has eight grandchildren, Amy Dilks, LCPL Bryan Dilks, T.K. Tamplin, Colin Tamplin, Megan Tamplin, Brandon Roberts, Callie Roberts and Chad Roberts; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

He will be missed.   Serving as pallbearers are, T.K Tamplin, LCPL. Bryan Dilks, Colin Tamplin, Sterling M. Simoneaux, Todd Faulk and Brandon Roberts.
