Inez Whitaker, 89, of Beaumont, died April 13, 2010, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont. Born on November 23, 1920, in Madisonville, Texas to Winnie Hall Blagrave and Reuben Blagrave, she had been a resident of the Beaumont area for sixty-five years. Inez was a floral designer with Bevil Florist in Beaumont.

She is survived by her sons, Ray Whitaker and his wife Linda of The Woodlands and Ron Whitaker and Gay Greer of Beaumont; brother, R.A. Blagrave and his wife Beth of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Inez is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Whitaker; daughter, Linda Campbell; sisters, Lallie Warren and Aliene Collins; and great-great-grandchild, Blake Lewis. 

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be at 5:00 p.m. Friday, at Redland Cemetery in Lilbert, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Broussard’s.
