Margaret Rose Nicholas Parsons, 85, of Saratoga, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.  A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Margaret was born March 15, 1925, to Orene Thompson Nicholas and Nims Nicholas. 

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Scoggan and her husband James of Houston; granddaughter, Erin Scoggan; sister, Marjorie Nicholas of Beaumont; and niece, Barbara Hawkes and her husband Marshall of Kountze.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Eldon Coye Parsons; and her son Eldon Gerard Parsons.

During World War II, Margaret worked as a riveter in the Beaumont shipyards, and after her marriage, continued to live in Beaumont and raise her family there.  After retiring to Saratoga, she enjoyed traveling with her son and daughter.  Together they visited Rome, Paris and London on several occasions.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Broussard’s.
