Stanley Verdun Shelander, 60, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Beaumont, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at his residence. Born March 13, 1950, Stanley graduated from Beaumont High School and Lamar University. He was a C.P.A. in San Antonio.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Sara Shelander of San Antonio; son, Eric Shelander of Boerne; step-son, Paul Milstead of San Antonio; brother, Mel W. Shelander and his wife Cathy of Beaumont, and Scott Shelander and his wife Pam of Beaumont; nephews, Derek Shelander, Brett Shelander both of Beaumont and Tyler Shelander of Iraq; nieces, Brenna Shelander of College Station, Tara Shelander, Carly Shelander and Colette Shelander all of Beaumont.

His parents, Verdun and Juanita Shelander preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Broussard’s. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Shelander, Brett Shelander, Doud Hauver, Jesse English, Steve Peyton and Jim Geyser. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Shelander.
