John Jason Attra, born January 26, 1972, passed away December 6, 2009.

He is survived by his mother, Tina Capeles; step-father, Ramon Capeles; wife, Tamara Attra; daughters, Amina and Aneira Attra; grandmother, LaWarren Matthew; step-grandfather, David Matthew; and step-siblings, Ramon Capeles II, Migel Capeles, and Maggie Dennison.

To My Beloved Son,

You are my shining star.

As a baby, you taught me love and gave me joy that I had never known.

As a boy, so sweet and full of life, the smiles that shined in you lit up my life.

As a man, you were so tender and thoughtful of others with a kind and gentle hand.

You gave me strength,

You gave me hope,

You gave me courage.

I love you, I miss you, and you are with me always, my shining star.

The Lord is my shepherd; therefore I can lack nothing.

He shall feed me in a green pasture, and lead me forth beside the waters for comfort.

He shall convert my soul, and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me.

Thou shalt prepare a table before me in the presence of them that trouble me, thou hast anointed my head with oil, and my cup shall be full.

Surely thy loving-kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

A graveside memorial for Jason will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St. Michael’s Orthodox Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin. A Trisagon Prayer will be said by Rev. Father Michael Pavez.
