Douglas Harvell, Sr., 72, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. A native of Greenburg, Louisiana he was born on September 27, 1937 to Florence and Chany Harvell. A veteran with the United States Marine Corps, he was a retired supervisor for Goodyear Tire and Rubber.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Harvell of Beaumont; son, Doug Harvell, Jr. of Onalaska; daughter-in-law, Sally Harvell of Batson; daughter, Vickie Locke and her husband Jim of Beaumont; step-daughter, Marie Roundtree of Kirbyville; step-sons, Wesley Roundtree of Vidor and John Roundtree of Kirbyville; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Harvell is preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive. A gathering of his family and friends will be Thursday morning prior to service from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
