Osa Mae Sparks, 83, of Silsbee died on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Village Creek Nursing Center in Lumberton. Osa Mae was born in Kountze, Texas on September 17, 1926 to Ocie and Deliliah Ann (Messer) Hargraves. She had lived in Silsbee all of her life and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Silsbee.

She is survived by her sons, J. P. Farris, Jr. of Honey Island, Duke Thompson of Silsbee; daughters, Paula Ayres and Joann Bowman both of Silsbee; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jerri Whittle and her grandson, Tommy Whittle.

Memorial service will be at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Friendship Baptist Church in Silsbee with Reverend Don Mitchell officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s in Kountze.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to National Kidney Foundation 2400 Augusta Drive Suite 252 Houston, Texas 77057.
