William "Billy" Norfleet, Jr. 
December 29, 1944 - April 2, 2010

William “Billy” Norfleet, Jr., 65, of Beaumont, died Friday, March 2, 2010, at Promise Hospital in Nederland.

 

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Billy owned and operated Sound Castle Record Store in Orange and Beaumont for twenty-two years. 

 

He attended St. Anthony Grammar and High School, and later graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1963. Billy went on to attend Lamar University graduating in 1968 with a BBA Degree in Marketing. 

 

He was a United States Army Reserve veteran during 1963-1973 reaching Rank of Staff Sergeant.  Billy worked for Conn’s Appliance from 1997-2006. 

 

Survivors include his cousin, Kirwin Melo of Nederland; and Kirwin’s children, Brandi and Julie; sister, Joan Hall of Virginia; nephew, Bryan LaCroix of Beaumont; and a large extended family.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Murphy Norfleet.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at St. Anne Catholic Church with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.  A Christian Vigil will be 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010, at Broussard’s.
