James "Wes" W. Schlett 
April 22, 1931 - March 24, 2010

James Wesley “Wes” Schlett, 78, of Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Beaumont Baptist Hospital.

 

A native of Beaumont, Wes was born April 22, 1931, to William Jackson and Nettie (Manning) Schlett. Wes graduated from Beaumont High, served in the United States Army during the Korean War and attended Lamar Tech. He started a moving business, City Baggage and Transfer, and was the head of Schlett Enterprises.

 

His son, Jay Wesley; and sister, Willie Austin, preceded him in death.

 

Wes is survived by his sons, Rocky Schlett and his wife, Stephenie of Nederland and Dean Schlett and his wife, Leigh of Austin; sister, MarJorie Woodall; brothers, Paul and Norman Schlett;  and six grandchildren, Abbie, Stephen, Katie, Wesley, Anna and Jay Scott Schlett.

 

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin with entombment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of his family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Broussard’s.
