John Nellis, 67, of Nederland, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.   Funeral service will be 10 am, Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland with Pastor Ron Hammond officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the mortuary. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s.   Mr. Nellis was a native of Flint, Michigan and lived in the Nederland area for forty years. He was a retired supervisor at the Nordel Unit of DuPont in Beaumont. Mr. Nellis served his country with three tours of Vietnam in the Marine Corps and then went on to retire from the Army.   Mr. Nellis is survived by his mother, Beatrice Mary Nellis of Havendale, Florida; his wife of thirty-eight years, Mary Nellis of Nederland; sons, John Nellis Jr. of Michigan and Brian K. Nellis and his wife Emily of Nederland; daughters, Kimberly Bernard and her husband Michael of Nederland and Tracy Henry and her husband Robert of Nederland; six grandchildren, Kristen, Katilyn, Cody, Elizabeth, Mynda and Daniel.
