Selma Thomas, 84, of Frisco, formerly of Beaumont, died Friday, March 19, 2010. A native of Hungerford and resident of the Beaumont area most of her life, Selma was born January 12, 1926, to Ruth Odom Morgan and James Morgan.

She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for 2 year olds at Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Thomas formerly of Beaumont; daughter, Carol Welborn of Frisco; son, Monte Thomas and his wife Cherrise of Vidor; grandchildren, Kayla Wiede and her husband Matt, Grady Welborn and his wife Lindy, Diane Keller and her husband Doug, and Keith Thomas and his wife Jessica; great granddaughter, Ava Thomas; sister, Ruby Bradley; brother, James Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010, at Broussard’s.
