Torchy was working as a fashion buyer for Gimbel’s in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1981 when she was offered the position of buyer for The Fair Department Stores.  She moved to Beaumont, fell in love with the city and made it her home.  She later owned and operated her own boutique which bore her name, “Torchy’s” in St. Charles Plaza on Phelan Blvd.

Torchy was an active and involved member of the community and devoted countless hours to raising awareness and support for many important causes in Beaumont and beyond.  She leaves a multitude of friends.  Moreover she leaves a legacy of style, generosity, laughter, and boundless energy.
