Norman Wayne “Scrap” Lawrence, 59, of Silsbee, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Scrap was born in Beaumont and lived in the Silsbee area most of his life.  He was a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Lawrence; children, Ashley Gordon and her husband Rodney, Alysha Lathern and her husband Cory all of Silsbee, Chuck McNeal and his wife Melissa of Baton Rouge, Jason McNeal and his wife Heather of Silsbee, and Robert McNeal and his wife Miranda of Lumberton; and eleven grandchildren.

Scrap is preceded in death by is parents, Norman and Ola Lawrence and granddaughter, Taylor McNeal.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.  A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
