Loretta Westmoreland, 69, of Katy died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at her daughter’s home. Loretta was born  February 11, 1941, in Sour Lake, Texas to Barney Lee and Verdie (Collins) Ainsworth. She was an Educational Counselor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Loretta received her Masters degree in Education and Counseling and her Masters degree in Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Conroe.

Loretta is survived by her children, John Westmoreland and his wife Audrey of San Jose, California and Debbie Vickers and her husband Don of Katy; brothers, Barney Ainsworth, Jr. and Don Ainsworth both of Sour Lake; sister, Shirley Garrard of Conroe; six grandchildren, Brent Vickers, Brooke Vickers, Benjamin Westmoreland, Catherine Westmoreland, Athena Westmoreland and Johnali Westmoreland. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bobby Joe Clark.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s in Kountze. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.
