James “Jim” Severs, Jr., 56, of Sour Lake died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his residence.  Jim was born December 24, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James Moon and Ruth (Garrison) Severs, Sr.  A resident of Sour Lake for eighteen years, he was employed with Sun Oil in Sour Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Severs; daughter, Farrah Severs Young of Lumberton; son, Dylan Bourgeois of Beaumont; brothers, Andrew and William Severs of Philadelphia; sisters, Susie DiFloria and Marion Kephart of New Jersey; and grandchildren, Brooks Allen Young,  Lyla Jewel Bourgeois, and Annie Mavis.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Franks Severs.

His memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont with Pastor Mel Rowell officiating. Cremation arrangements are being handled under the direction of Broussard’s.
