Candice R. Stephens, 61, of Sour Lake died March 2, 2010, at her residence.  Candice was born in San Mateo, California on October 14, 1948, to Robert Clayton and Betty  (Kowalski) Henley.  A resident of the Sour Lake area for thirty-five years, she was an equipment operator with Transit Mix.

She is survived by her husband, Barney Stephens of Sour Lake; son, Leif Allen Jordan and his wife Donita of Pinrose, Colorado; mother, Betty K. Hobson of Bastrop, Texas; brothers, Terry Lee Henley and James E. Hobson, Jr. and his wife Diana both of Bastrop; and granddaughter, Cheyenne Jordan.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m.Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with burial to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake.  A gathering of her family and friends will be Friday, March 5, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
