Bettye Louise Craig 
April 17, 1923 - February 13, 2010

Bettye Louise Craig, 86, of Nederland passed away on February 13, 2010 at Promise Hospital in Nederland.   Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Eric Armstrong officiating. A graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Hemphill with Rev. Bo Owens officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday at the mortuary.   Mrs. Craig was born to Horace and Virginia Sibley on April 17, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a member of Triangle Baptist Church in Nederland and retired from the Hughen School as a nurse’s aid. She enjoyed crafts and the craft clubs in Hemphill when she and her husband lived there. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW in Hemphill and the American Women’s Business Association.   Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Craig; son, William “Billy” Craig; sisters, Virginia Lessig and Etta Purdum; and a grandson, Doug Quebedeaux. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Elliott and husband, Larry of Nederland and Janet Quebedeaux and husband, Jimmy of Nederland; son, Todd Craig of Bryan; grandchildren, Lisa Schab and husband, Howard of Bridge City, Susan Craig Jordan and husband, Jerry of Devers, Bryan Craig and wife, Kelly of Bridge City, Jimmy Quebedeaux, Jr. and wife, Donna of Nederland, Sharon Sibley of Houston, J.T. Craig of Bryan, Bridget Craig of Bryan, Amy Toon of Haslet, Alicia Peterson of Lewes, Delaware and Ryan Elliott of California; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Craig of Bel Air, Maryland; cousin, Jack Dietz of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and dear friends, Patsy Craig of Nederland, Glenn Sibley of Nederland and five nephews of Baltimore, Maryland.
