Wallace Wilbanks, 75, of Nederland, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Funeral service with Masonic Rites will be 10 am Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend Kevin Otto officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday, February 15, 2010 at the mortuary. Mr. Wilbanks was a native of Palestine and lived in the Nederland area since 1962. He was a shoe merchandising manager for Dryden’s in Groves for 20 years and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland. Mr. Wilbanks enjoyed hunting and fishing, was Past Master of Cosmopolitan Masonic Lodge # 872 A.F & A.M in Port Arthur and a longtime member of The Pompano Club. He will be remembered as a man who could draw and build anything and was always ready to help his friends in need. Mr. Wilbanks is survived by his wife, Bobbie Capps of Nederland; son, Kenneth Wilbanks of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; daughters, Kay Stanley and her husband Kenneth of Silsbee and Lisa Quebedeaux of Beaumont; granddaughters, Kristin Michna and Malana Quebedeaux of Beaumont; brother, Jess Wilbanks and his wife Mary of Harlingen and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Wilbanks and his son Keith Wilbanks.
