Pauline O. Hilton
June 4, 1915 - February 6, 2010

Pauline O. Caldwell Hilton, previously of Nederland, Texas, was called home on February 6, 2010 to be with her Lord.  She was born to Paul and Nona Caldwell in Paxton, Texas on June 4, 1915.

She was married to James Paul Hilton on Jan 3, 1937.  From this union of more than 40 years, the Lord blessed them with five children, Marla Jean, James Caldwell, Phillip Lee, Paul Rhyan and Virginia Beth (Ginny).  She is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, James Paul and 2 of her children, James Caldwell and Ginny.

She briefly attended Stephen F. Austin College and aspired to be a teacher.  Raising a family and encouraging her children in academics and giving them a spiritual foundation for faith and life took a higher priority than her own education.  She always said teaching her children was a privilege, not a compromise.  The fruits of her guidance enabled many educational achievements for her descendants.

She attended First Baptist Church in Nederland for almost forty years until she moved away in her senior years.  Always active, she taught Sunday school starting with the nursery and finishing with a senior adult class.  Her favorite church group in which she participated was the Silvertone choir.  She was also proud to have served in the local Aggie Moms club from the late 50’s to the late ’70’s.  She held many positions including that of President.

She is survived by Marla Spittler and husband Bill, Phillip Hilton and wife Betty and Rhyan Hilton and wife Venetta.  She is also survived by her brother, P. O. Caldwell Jr. and wife Marge, her sister-in-law Winnie Weldon, and eleven grandchildren: Wade Spittler, Sherri Davenport, Ronald Hilton, Amber Davis, Robert Hilton, Jamie Vickers, Jeremy Hilton, Zachary Hilton, Holly Blake Jacobs, Katherine Pahls and James Hilton and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
