Janet Iris McManus LeBlanc 
December 15, 1934 - February 10, 2010

Janet Iris LeBlanc, affectionately known as “Jan” by her friends, and “Muv” by her family, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the age of 75.

 

A native of Lake Charles, Jan was born December 15, 1934, to D.S. McManus and Ayme R. Fairchild. After graduating from South Park High School in Beaumont, she received a degree in English from the University of Texas in 1952. 

 

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where she was President of the Women of St. Mark’s Organization and participated in many fund drives. Jan was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, a Boy Scout Cub Mother for her son’s group of friends, and was a member of the Junior League of Beaumont, where she headed many committees. She loved spending time at the beach at her house in the Holiday Beach addition.

 

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-two years, George “Tommy” LeBlanc; children, David LeBlanc and his wife Nancy, Stacey Green, and Terri Broussard and her husband Steven; grandchildren, Daniel Green and his wife Jennifer, Jennifer Renee’ Green, Nelson LeBlanc, Logan Blanchette, Trent Childs, and Trace Broussard; sister, Ann King; niece, Janice King; and her beloved dogs, Sam, Poco and Daisy.

 

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Broussard’s.
