Carl E. Peiffer, 90, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Triumph Central Hospital in Clear Lake. He was born January 11, 1920, in Summit Station, Pennsylvania to Annie Schneck and William Peiffer. Carl, a member of the Air Force met the love of his life Ruth in Orange, while stationed Lake Charles. He was a Deacon at Pine Burr Baptist Church and later was a member of North End Baptist Church. He was the co-owner of Doug Young Equipment Rental and was a member of the Local Operators #450 for over sixty years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Carl is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Ruth Mays Peiffer; daughters, Karleen Clauser and her husband James of Landingville, Pennsylvania, Sharon Travis and her husband Dwain of Decatur, Rebecca McGuire and her husband Charles of La Porte; son, Neal Peiffer and his wife Sondra of Lumberton; nine grandchildren, Jason Clauser, Kirk Clauser and Christie Osatchuck of Pennsylvania, Allison Travis and Lindsay Travis of Fort Worth, Jennifer Garner of Houston, Chase McGuire of Deer Park, Taylor Peiffer and Madison Peiffer of Lumberton; nine great-grandchildren, Kile and Brendan Clauser and Austin, Riley and Aidan Clauser, Emma and Sara Osatchuck all of Pennsylvania, Riley and Dylan Garner of Houston; brothers, Paul Peiffer, Russell Peiffer and William Peiffer all of Summit Station, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and William Peiffer. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Broussard’s.
