Roberto Aurelio Sekimotto, 89, of Beaumont, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

A native of El Callao, Peru and resident of the Beaumont area for many years, Roberto was a retired engineer with Petroleos del Peru.  Roberto was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He was a keen ham radio operator as well as a stamp collector. Roberto especially loved fishing.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Rosa I. Sekimotto of Beaumont; daughters, Rosa A. Sekimotto of Beaumont, Sonia Binning and her husband Kenneth of Walnut Creek, California, Virginia Hutchison and her husband David of Edinburgh, Scotland, Iris Allen and her husband Timothy of Ashland, Massachusetts, and Jodi Vargas of Austin; grandchildren, Kelly Lasky and her husband Matthew, Kevin Binning and his wife Kelly, Michael Hutchison, Henry Sekimotto, Jonathan Allen, Patrick Allen and Robert Christopher Allen; great-granddaughter, Dahlia Lasky; and sister, Haydee Malaga of Lima, Peru.

He was preceded in death by his son, Alan Sekimotto.

His memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday until time of service at Broussard’s. His committal was at Broussard’s Crematorium.

Roberto Aurelio Sekimotto, de 89 años de edad, de Beaumont, murió el lunes,  1 de Febrero de 2010, en el hospital Memorial Hermann Baptist de Beaumont, Texas.

Nacido en El Callao, Perú y residente del área de Beaumont por muchos años, Roberto fue ingeniero jubilado de Petróleos del Perú. Roberto fue  miembro de los Testigos de Jehová.

Él fue radio aficionado, así como un colector de la estampillas. Una de las pasiones de Roberto fue la pesca.

Ø  Sus hijos: Rosa A. Sekimotto de Beaumont, Sonia Binning y su marido Kenneth de Walnut Creek, California, Virginia Hutchison y su marido David de Edimburgo, Escocia, Iris Allen y su marido Timothy de Ashland, Massachusetts, y Jodi Vargas de Austin.

Ø  Sus nietos: Kelly Lasky y su marido Matthew, Kevin Binning y su esposa Kelly, Michael Hutchison, Henry Sekimotto, Jonathan G. Allen, G. Patrick Allen y Robert Christopher Allen.

Ø  Su bisnieta: Dahlia Lasky.

Ø  Su hermana: Haydee Málaga de Lima, Perú.

Ø  Su hijo Alan Sekimotto lo precedió en la muerte.
