Olga Rita Digiovanni 
February 17, 1932 - January 29, 2010

Olga Rita Digiovanni, 77, of Groves, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Reverend J.C. Coon officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Monday, February 1, 2010 with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm at the mortuary.

 

Olga was a native of Beaumont and lived in Groves for the last 60 years. She was member of St. James Catholic Church. She graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and then attended Port Arthur College. She was employed as a secretary at Texaco before becoming a full time wife and mother. She especially loved caring for her family and enjoyed playing Bourre with her life long friends. In her domino group she was known as the double queen. St. Therese was a beloved and special Saint to her.

 

Olga is survived by her husband of 59 years, Peter Digiovanni of Groves; daughter, Ann Kusenberger and her husband Don of Little Rock, Arkansas; sons, Randy P. Digiovanni and his wife Carleen of Groves and Clifford Digiovanni and his wife Sharon of Groves; five grandchildren, Paige, Justin and Ryan Digiovanni and Christopher and Allison Kusenberger. She is also survived by her sisters, Stella Parish and her husband Elvin of Toledo Bend and Val Runte of Nederland.
