John A. Galles 
May 31, 1917 - January 29, 2010

John A. “Jack” Galles, 92, of Cypress, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at his residence. A native of Flaxton, North Dakota and a resident of Beaumont since 1965, Jack was born May 31, 1917, to Helen and William J. Galles. He served in the Army and the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired as an operator for Mobil Oil.

 

His sister, Ester Stanton; and brothers, Jerome, William, Donald and Harry Galles preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret Galles; daughters, Loretta Ann Galles Tompkins of Cypress, Teresa Marie Fox of Granger and Mary Helen Ishee of Charlottesville, Virginia; sons, John Richard Galles of Evansville, Wyoming, Anthony Charles Galles of Cypress, Henry Joseph Galles of Beaumont, Paul Eugene Galles of Leander and Christopher Robin Galles of Magnolia; sisters, Caroline Steidle of Mesa, Arizona and Eileen Ringold of Mesa, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
