George Lee O’Briant passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the age of 66. George was born in Galveston, Texas on June 24, 1943. A longtime resident of Beaumont, George was a United States Army Vietnam veteran and a longshoreman. George was a member of VFW-Spindletop Post #1806 in Beaumont and Eagles Lodge #4743 in Port Neches. He was a past state president of the Eagles. George was also a member of the American Legion 493 of Nederland and the 40 and 8 Voiture 312 of Beaumont.

George is survived by his two brothers, William Henry McCray and Frank McCray; sister, Jean McIntosh; sister-in-law, Patti O’Briant; companion, Donna McKeon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at VFW Hall, 1882 Park Street, Beaumont, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will begin 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the VFW Hall. A committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium.
