Margaret Muriel Bauknight, 88, of Beaumont, died Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beaumont.

She was a native of Cedar Key, Florida and was a twenty year resident of the Beaumont area.  Margaret was a member of Grace and Truth Gospel Tabernacle in Beaumont.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Simmons and her husband Benjamin of Beaumont; grandchildren, Kyle Edward Simmons and his wife Julie, Christopher Bauknight and his wife Christy, Hannah Kash and her husband Stephen, and Julie Bauknight;  great grandchildren, Austin Simmons, Chandler Kash, Weston Kash, Wyatt Kash, William Kash, and Lacy Simmons;  and sister, Irene Koon.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Joe Edward Bauknight; son, Joe E. Bauknight, Jr.; and brothers, Charles Coburn, Holland Coburn and Beatrice Shealy.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Houston National Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Broussard’s.
