Mark Wayne Henderson
August 18, 1960 - January 19, 2010

Mark Wayne Henderson, 49, of Beaumont, passed away on January 19, 2010.  Born August 18, 1960, he was a lifelong resident of Beaumont

Mark graduated from South Park High School in 1978.  He continued his education at Lamar University and earned an AAS in Industrial Electricity and Electronic Technology followed by a BBA in Accounting.  He enjoyed working with computers and spent the latter half of his career working in information technology for various hospitals throughout Southeast Texas

Mark enjoyed fishing and reading, but nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his family.  His son, Cory, was his pride and joy. His daughter, Jaycie, was without question the apple of his eye and the spring in his step.   He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Laurie, for twenty-nine wonderful years.  They enjoyed many happy times together taking vacations, attending children’s events, and spending time at home with family and friends.  He will be loved and missed by all.

In addition to numerous family and friends, Mark loved his church.  He had been a member at Calder Baptist Church for twenty-three years.  Over these years, Mark remained active in many areas of church life, as well as serving as a deacon. He freely and generously gave his time to ministry at church, as well as to others who might need his assistance.  Whether to correct a computer problem for a friend or to mow someone’s yard, Mark always made time for other people.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Platt Henderson of Beaumont; son, Cory Henderson of Fort Worth; daughter, Jaycie Henderson of Beaumont; brothers Carl Lane Henderson of Nome, Texas and Jerry Henderson of Harriet, Arkansas; and father-in-law, Ronald E. Platt of Beaumont.  He was proceeded in death by his brother, George Henderson; parents, Corley Love Henderson and Mable Jeannette Leger Henderson, as well as mother-in-law, Annette Platt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 at Calder Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
