Walter "Pap" Lee Nichols 
February 17, 1939 - January 18, 2010

Monday, January 18, 2010, God came to the Nichols Family and summoned home a man of few, but mighty words.  He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

 

Walter Lee “Pap” Nichols, was born February 17, 1939, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Odessa White Lewis and James Raymond.

He married Jeanette Rivon, they were blessed to share 52 wonderful years together.  He loved his wife dearly.  The two of them shared so many wonderful memories.  They anxiously anticipated NBA season.  Where the two of them sat and enjoyed every Houston Rocket game together.

 

Pap was preceded in death by his mother Odessa White Lewis and father James Raymond; daughter Nita Green; his sisters Mozella “Red” Jack and Norma J. Coleman, brothers: Russell Lewis and Marshall Raymond.

 

He is lovingly survived by his wife Jeanette Nichols; children, Calvin Nichols Sr. (Carolyn), Wesley Nichols Sr. (Sandra) and Steven Nichols (Nichole) and Connie Nichols; siblings, Geraldine Williams (Dewitt), Diane Lewis, Anitra Kay Brooks (Ricky), Ceven Lewis (Special Friend Gail); grandchildren, Calvin Nichols Jr. (Eutondra), Mikell Nichols, Adrien Nichols, Wesley Nichols Jr., Tresly Nichols, Ashley Lewis and Bridget Nichols; one great grandaughter, Brooklyn Nichols; special niece, Anitra Rivon; nieces and nephews, Ted Rivon (Lisa) , Travis Lewis, Ceven Lewis Jr., Naomi Randall and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Broussard's Chapel, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burail at Rivon Cemetery in Anahuac. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
