Paula Jan Dennis
June 14, 1961 - January 15, 2010 |
Paula Jan Dennis surrendered after an exhausting battle with a heart condition on January 10, 2010, at her home in Beaumont. Paula was born June 14, 1961, in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was the first child of Jimmie and Linda Dennis. Paula lived in Crockett’s Bluff, Arkansas during her elementary school years and moved to the Fannett area during her middle school years and graduated from Hamshire – Fannett in 1979. The union of Paula and Carl Wendell was blessed with the birth of their daughter, Summer Sharee in 1981. Paula lived most of her life in the Beaumont area. She was very interested in Texas and served as a volunteer at several historic sites. Paula has always been creative and worked with stained glass, sea shells, driftwood and any other natural medium available especially if it could be obtained from the local beaches. She was also an avid gardener and loved to share the bounty from her small garden. Paula has joyfully reunited with David “Cap” Williams, her husband, soul mate and best friend who departed this life September 12, 2009. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Barbara Dennis, Kenneth Poston, Dennis “Uncle Sam” Casey and her “Grand-dog” Alex. What a joyous reunion this must have been. Paula is survived by her daughter, Summer Wendell of Port Arthur; parents, Linda Parker – Northen and Jimmie C. Dennis; grandmother, Joy Poston; sisters, Jimmie Carroll Myers, Dana Boswell, Shelly Zacharias, and Kimberly DeWitt; aunts, Denise Casey-Durham, Sharon Davis, and Faye Blankenship; her uncle Bill Parker; nieces, Shelly, Amanda, Kaylan, Casey, Taylor, Liberty-Shane; nephews, Bruno, Dustin, and Trevor; cousins, Angela Chambers, and Kendil Westberry; special friends, Jeanette Baird-Luce, and Pauline Breaux; and many other loving family members and friends. Special thanks to Paula’s biggest fans, Lonnie and Debbie Myers. On behalf of our entire family a very heartfelt thank you to the special people that came to our rescue in our darkest hour. A memorial service to return Paula’s ashes to the earth will be held at Pleasure Island where her husband’s ashes were returned. Paula’s arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
