Luke Latino, Sr., 88, of Kountze, died Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care.

Luke was born in Beaumont and had lived in Kountze for thirty-four years where he was a house painter and a farmer.

He is survived by his sons, Luke Latino, Jr. and his wife Harriet of Kountze, Tommy Latino of Rockdale, and Charles Latino and his wife Karen of Kountze; six grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and sisters, Rose Piazza and her husband Jack of Beaumont, Mary Peden and her husband Jeral, and Frances McDaniel all of Lumberton.

Luke is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Latino; parents, Carlo and Bessie Latino; grandson, Kevin Latino; brothers, Luke, Tony, and Vincent Latino; and sisters, Josephine and Jennie Mazzola and Lillie Tallina.

The family would like to send special thanks to the caregivers who attend to Mr. Latino at his home, Crisha Whitehead and Phyllis Kunk and all other caregivers, as well as the staff at Silsbee Oaks Healthcare Alzheimer’s unit.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, January 18, 2010, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
