Bertha Nevils Jones, 95, was born in Kinder, Louisiana on December 13, 1914. She passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 at St. Marks Hospital in LaGrange, Texas.   She moved to Beaumont, met and married James A. Jones, Sr. in October, 1933. They had two children, James A. “Lee’ Jones Jr. and his wife Sue of Port Neches and Alan W. Jones and his wife Tommie of Muldoon. She is also survived by two brothers, Elmer Nevils of Beaumont and Roy Nevils of Ingram; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She will be especially missed by her faithful four legged companion, Penny.   She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Alton Jones Sr. in 1982, brothers, Elvis, Melvin and Eddy Nevils; nephew, Richard Ray Nevils and grandson, Lee Alvin Jones. After her husband passed away, Mrs. Jones moved to Muldoon, Texas, her husband’s birthplace, and lived there until her death.   Funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Malcolm Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
