Gladys Lindsey, 86, of Honey Island went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 8, 2010 surrounded by her family. Gladys was born in Hull, Texas on September 28, 1923 and had resided in Honey Island most of her life. She owned and operated several different businesses during her lifetime in the Kountze and Silsbee area and was a longtime member of Honey Island Assembly of God.

Gladys is survived by her sons, James L. Lindsey, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Seymour, Indiana, Kenneth Ray Lindsey of Honey Island; grandson, Kyle Ray Lindsey of Seymour, Indiana; and three great grandchildren, Kylee, Hayley and Connor. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “J.L.” Lindsey.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Broussard’s in Kountze with Reverend Earl Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery in Honey Island. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
