George Lester Adams 
May 2, 1930 - January 8, 2010

George L. Adams, 79, of Silsbee, died Friday, January 8, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.

 

A native of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, he was born May 2, 1930 to Anna Belle and Lester Adams. He was a member of the North Carolina Army National Guard before enlisting in the United States Air Force. His career as an auditor for the United States government allowed he and his family to live in a variety of locations. He lived in the Beaumont area for several years where he was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Regardless of where he was living, he loved his church, horses, and the outdoors.  

 

Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Jacqueline Adams of Silsbee; daughters, Debbie Smith and her husband David of Lumberton and Denise Nordenger of Abilene; sons, Michael Adams of Abilene, Stephen Adams and his wife Tami of Alabama and Robert Adams and his wife Cecilia of Tokyo, Japan; brother, Robert B. Adams and his wife Ann of Beacon, New York; nine grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members.

 

His grandson, Joshua Arviso, preceded him in death.

 

His memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4330 Crow Road, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
