LaRue F. Choate 
October 15, 1925 - January 1, 2010

LaRue F. Choate, 84, of Beaumont died January 1, 2010, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston.  LaRue was born October 15, 1925, to Otto and Lovie (McCall) Fischer and was a native of Hamshire and lifelong resident of Beaumont. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Lamar University in medical technology and retired with Beaumont Medical Surgical Hospital, currently Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital, as a medical technologist. 

 

Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Godfrey O. Choate; children, Darla Choate Al-Jureidini and her husband Dr. Saadeh of St. Louis, Missouri, William Gary Choate of Beaumont, Thomas Lynn Choate and his wife Christene Zagone of Lafayette, Louisiana, Randal Craig Choate of Beaumont, Charlene Choate Muckridge and her husband Patrick of Houston,  and Andrea Lea Descant and her husband Frank of Perth, Australia; grandchildren, Helen, Sami, and Shadi Al-Jureidini, Nicholas, Jaicee, and Bailee Choate, Evan Muckridge, Katherine and Griffin Descant, Sandra Choate Caceres and her husband David, and Emerson Choate and his wife Yvonne; great grandchildren, Abbie, Ian, and Dillon Choate; sisters, Alice Morris and Barbara Jane Richmond and her husband Gaylen; sisters-in-law, Thelma Fischer Standley and her husband Troy and Billie M. Peavey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Lee “Bobby” Choate; and brother, David “Scoop” Fischer.

 

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.  A gathering of her family and friends will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
