Betty Stohl, 85, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009. Betty was a native of Plainfield, New Jersey and resident of the Beaumont area since 1997. Prior to moving to Beaumont, she and her husband raised five children in Englishtown New Jersey before moving to the Virginia’s Eastern Shore in Onancock, where they resided for twenty-five years. Mrs. Stohl’s primary vocation was a homemaker, however, she worked for a period as an assembly-line worker for Brockway Glass Company of Freehold, New Jersey.
Mrs. Stohl was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, John Stohl, Jr. and children, Betty Lou Stohl Gray and Michael Stohl.
Survivors include her son, John Stohl III of Laurel, Delaware and daughters, Karan Shay and her husband Gerhard of Beaumont and Mary Elff and her husband Walter of South Dakota; brother, Franklin Blount of California, David Blount and his wife Patty of Plainfield, New Jersey, and Joe Blount and his wife Dorothy of Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with committal at Broussard’s Crematorium.
