Pauline Alston Richey, age 87, was born on October 3, 1922. She was called home to be with Jesus and her loved ones gone before on December 25, 2009. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Broussard’s Chapel, Family and friends are truly sadden that her home going occurred on Christmas Day, but God in His infinite wisdom knew that Christmas was Pauline’s most favorite time of the year, her favorite Bible story was the Christmas story, and her favorite song was “Silent Night”. Today we celebrate the Christmas season and Pauline’s life here with family and friends. Jim and Pauline lived in the Winnie/Anahuac and Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers. Surviving siblings include three sisters, Marie Dotson, of She was affectionately known as “Shug” to her loving husband, James Wesley Richey, Sr. Jim and Pauline celebrated their seventieth anniversary on September 16, 2009. Their children include James Wesley Richey, Jr. and his wife Juanita of Anahuac, Texas, Patricia Adell Craigen and her husband Clyde of Austin, Texas, William Andrew Richey and his wife Irena of Cypress, Texas; nine grandchildren, James Wesley Richey, III and his wife Mary Beth of Anahuac, Texas, Carla Richey of Winnie, Texas, Victoria Richey of Anahuac, Texas, Levi Richey of Houston, Texas, Taylor Craigen and his wife Cindy of College Station, Texas, Marlene McCain and her husband Wade of Athens, Alabama, Christi Moore and her husband Eric of Cypress, Texas, LaDonna Tindall and her husband David of Cypress, Texas, Jonathan Richey of Cypress, Texas; seventeen great-grandchildren, Megan, Rachel and Kyla Richey of Anahuac, Texas, Whitney Richey, Brendan and Madison Denton of Anahuac, Texas, Tristan Richards, Chelsea, Taeler and Benjamin Moore of Cypress, Texas, Leyla, Nathan, and Mary Kate Tindall of Cypress, Texas, Abbie and Callie Craigen of College Station, Texas, Hannah and Ty McCain of Athens, Alabama. Pallbearers include her grandsons, Wesley, Levi and Jonathan Richey and Taylor Craigen also dear friends of Jim’s and Pauline's, Vernon McCain and Larry Clayman.
