Kin Joseph LaFleur
April 19, 1920 - December 25, 2009

Kin Joseph LaFleur was at his home under the care of Odyssey Healthcare of Beaumont when he went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2009.

Kin was born April 19, 1920, in Washington, Louisiana, to Victor LaFleur and Cora Soileau LaFleur.  He lived in Louisiana most of his life.  He married Hazel K. Parker in 1940.  They moved from town to town, state to state as he worked on the pipeline.  Later he became an iron worker and still moved around until moving to Nederland, where Hazel died June 21, 1992.  He remained in Nederland until December 25, 2006, when he moved to Winnie to be with his daughter.

Kin was just a simple man; not in mind, but in the way he lived.  He came to know Jesus when he was 78.  He then lived a more meaningful life but still remained simple.

Kin was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; daughter, Carol; and his brothers, John, Melvin, and Paul LaFleur.  Survivors include his sons, Ken LaFleur and his wife Wanda, and John LaFleur and his wife Beverly; his daughter, Margo Sitka and her husband Charles; his brothers, Jesse and Duffy LaFleur; sisters, Elaine Dupont, Belle Foret, Mary Jane Dupree, and Laura Jane; grandchildren, Lauren LaFleur, Matt LaFleur, Tammy Monse, Kinsie Hunt and her husband Marc, Brian LaFleur and his wife Heather, and Kim Gigliotta and her husband Joe; great grandchildren, Kayla Monse, Weston Monse, Abby and Nathan LaFleur, and Micah and Jonah Gigliotta; as well as many special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie with a graveside service 3:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens in Nederland.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Broussard's.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Healthcare of Beaumont, 550 Fannin, Suite 1230, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
