Mary Lou Collier, after a battle with cancer, died at eighty-one years of age, on Wednesday, December 23, 2009.  She was the daughter of Andrew and Olivia Seymour of Winnie-Stowell, Texas.  Mary Lou graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in Orange and then moved to Beaumont.  She began attending Calvary Baptist Church where she met and married Richard, her husband for the next fifty-nine years.  Richard is the son of Earl and Margie Collier.

Mary Lou’s career included employment with Gulf States Utilities as well as with Beaumont Neurological Center.  After her retirement, she and Richard built a house and moved to Wildwood Resort City.

She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Collier of Wildwood; sister, Anna Laura Chaddick of Downey, California; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and wonderful neighbors.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Richard Cowart officiating. Burial will follow at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 12:00 noon until service time.
