Charles B. Manning, 85, of Beaumont died Friday, December 11, 2009, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A native of Hastings, Nebraska, Mr. Manning has lived in the Beaumont area since 1959 and was the owner and operator of Manning’s Texas on Wheels.  He was a P-38 Fighter Pilot and served as 1st Lieutenant with the United States Army Air Corp.

Survivors include his daughters, Diane Manning of Red Lake, Ontario and Corinne Creason of Beaumont; grandchildren, Ryan Manning, Christopher Creason, and Catherine Creason; his former wife and business partner, Evelyn Manning; sister, Patricia Breland of Houston; and his friend and caretaker, Don Allen of Brenham.

His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, at Broussard’s.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium.
