Helen Wolfe Knight, 86 of Port Neches, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 14, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Daleo officiating. A private graveside service will be held later in the week at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City, Missouri. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday evening from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s in Nederland with a Christian Vigil beginning at 6:00 P.M.
Mrs. Knight was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and has lived in the Mid-County area since the early 1970’s. She was a homemaker much of her life, but did work outside of the home for a period of time as a bookkeeper for the Sabine Pass Water District and other businesses. She was a master at crossword puzzles, an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, travel and rarely missed an Astro or an NFL game.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Wolfe, Sr; son Freddie Wolfe, Sr., sisters, Evelyn Conley and Shirley Cover.
Surviving her are, husband, Ernest Knight of Port Neches; son, Ed Wolfe, Jr., of Port Arthur; daughters, Cherie Hillman and her husband Jerald of Scott City, Missouri; Anna Williams and her husband Tommy of Dayton, TX; Judy Wolfe of Dayton, TX.; step-sons, Ernie Knight and his wife Pam of Nederland; Chris Knight and his wife Faye of Bridge City; 23 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
